Wow.....can you believe that it has been 4 years since the day Ragnar Birkeland came to us for a quick visit? It is such an easy day to remember since it is on St. Patricks Day. We have now renamed the holiday in honor of our little boy to St. Raggy's Day. If any of you don't know the story behind the name RAGNAR....well....you may think we are kinda mean parents. But believe me it fits.
It always is a good day to remember what we have to look forward to when we see the little dude again. I do feel like it is a little blessing to always have that excitement to raise a child we do not know in the next life. I can't wait to see what little personality he has, and to see my love grow for him. I am sure he is up there now giving our new little boy some pointers on how to deal with us. Hopefully "Jack" is taking the pointers to good heart.
So, you are all probably wondering if that is the name of our new baby boy. Well, we have been throwing around multiple names, but we always come back to Jack. But here is the real kicker. I asked Emmi about a month ago what she wanted to name her little brother. Quickly, she replied plain as day, "JONES". I repeated it, then she said, "yes....JONES". OK there you go. I have no idea where that came from but Brian is loving it. I am not so sold on it for a first name but I can do JACK JONES BIRKELAND. What does everyone think? JONES for a first name, or JACK?

oh what a cute name- i have always loved jack and if tony and i ever have a boy i think we might use that. but i actually love jones for first name! either way it's gonna be a cute name! way to go emmi!
Hmmm... Jones. I think I like that. You guys could totally do that. And you know he'll grow up to be the studliest muffin to walk the earth.
Brett and I both love JONES as a first name. :) But Jack Jones is adorable as well. Jones Birkeland... sounds like movie star... or a secret agent...

Jones is original. I don't ever hear anyone name their baby Jones. I do hear Jack a lot. I like em both;)
Ever since you told me you might name him Jack I've been in absolute love with it. It so adorable that Emmi named him Jones so I think its a perfect compromise to name him little Jack Jones.
I love the name Jack, we have a Jackson and call him Jack and we love it. Jones is so cool. Honestly I love them both, but Jones is unique.
I really like the name Jones because it is so originial. Jack is a way cute name, but it is one that is used quite frequently. I think Jones is so stinking cute. I'm sure whatever name you choose we will all love it and support your choice.
I think either is VERY cute! And I'm sure those cute names will be fit for such a handsome little boy. I know that he is going to be SO, SO cute. Can't wait!
We have a friend with a little boy Jack....I love it!! How cute is Emmi helping to name her brother!! We are finally starting to feel better..it's been the worse cold of my adult life!! So I will call this week okay...sorry!
My son James used to ask where his brother "Mike" was (by name) BEFORE he was born. I think Emmi's got a great idea!
Now I will always remember St. Raggy's Day. It is a good day to remember when you get to see him again. What a great day that will be.
I like Jones as the first name. He can always go by his middle name. When he's a general authority he can go by J. Jack Birkeland. Nice ring to it.

Wow, either name is so so So cute. I'm kinda leaning towards Jones just because #1 it's different, kina like Emmi's name, and #2, Emmi gave it to her brother!! That is really neat! I like who ever said it was the name of a general authority. lol I can't wait to see what you guys decide! Not too much longer! yeah!!!
