All of a sudden I am a BIG BOY!

Hey guys.....It's me Jack Jones. I am 20 months old now and I keep my mom going all day long. My favorite things:

1. dressing up (I just want to be just like my sister. Can you blame me?)
2. my bottle (I totally con my mom into giving me one everyday sometimes more...he he :))
3. reading books (The Mitten, No David, Animal picture books)
4. brooms and mops (My mom thinks I will grow up to be a janitor one day. Thanks mom for having such high hopes for me)
5. Spatulas and tongs (My favorite thing is to unfold all the clean laundry piece by piece with salad tongs. Good times folks. The look on my mom's face is priceless)
6. Playing in the toilet. (You would think that with all the scolding my mom does the novelty would wear off....oh no I love getting the toilet paper all soggy and sweeping across the bathroom walls and floors. There's nothing better than being a kid.)
7. Seeing myself pee. (I have to admit I do like this. My mom takes me to the potty and I say, "I peed". I think it is so funny)
8. Avocado (my lunch of preference is chips and avocado. Lets face it I don't even eat the chip I just use it as my spoon to eat my avocado.)
9. Talking (I am a pretty good talker. At least I think so. I may not say my s'ssss or shhhhh'ssss. But who needs to use those sounds?)
10. Emmi, Mommy, and Daddy ( Yeah I love my sister. We have our moments of wanting to beat each other down, but I still love her. I love seeing my daddy after work, and I love my mommy to rock me to sleep at night.)

Now this is a good look aint it? Mommy's boots when she was a little tike like me. Who needs pants when I got a diaper?

My mommy and daddy always call me Jacky so I thought I would show them. If Emmi gets to dress up why can't I?

Chocolate anyone? I have just a little to share!

Strollen along happy as a clam with my sister on my right and a chocolate pretzel in my left. Life is good people!

I'm totally in love with my daddy's bald head. It feels so weird! Hopefully that this is not a "father like son" kinda thing.

Just helping my dad out with the shoveling. Santa brought me this shovel and it is just my size. Did someone already mention I love to clean?

My fro that I sport somedays. I always have to pretend to like it. Sorry mom, just telling you the truth.

Just chillin in Papa Birkeland's hospital bed. Now I just need a beverage.

Popcorn and movie night. Now these are my favorite. Somehow after 1 minute of the show it is time for me to say goodnight and go to bed. Now this is when being a kid sucks!

Vvvrrrroooommm! I don't think car racing will be my thing.

Did someone say that this was fun? Cause I think they were lying! Get me off mom. NOW!
Jack, Jacky, Bird, Bird Dog. WE LOVE WATCHING YOU GROW UP!

Lucy's Birth

Today I am going to sit down and take the time to journal Lucy's birth story.  My feelings are still so fresh and I want to remember my experience forever.  When I found out I was pregnant with Lucy I had feelings of apprehension and fear.  I wasn't ready for another baby nor was Brian to say the least.  I actually kept the news to myself for weeks, till I could no longer keep it to myself.  I knew that I had to keep working to keep the family afloat and if there were any complications we could not survive without my income.  Lots of prayers were said to keep this baby inside me so I could take care of our family and house.  To say the least my prayers were answered and this was the most smooth sailing pregnancies yet.  I was able to work part-time and at the end go full-time, and actually Brian and I were able to travel to Europe for 2 weeks when I was 24 weeks pregnant. Sweet! Since the day I told Brian I w...

I have "KIDS"

So, I find myself tripping out at the thought that I now have 2 kids. I was completely freaking out before baby Jack arrived due to the fact that I feel like Emmi is a handful and I can't imagine doubling that work. To get myself to calm down I would just tell myself, "everyone does it, right?" Well, to say the least it hasn't been a breeze so far. I am handling the baby fine. Yeah, some sleep deprivation, but Emmi has been a complete "2 year old" nightmare. I believe she is loving her baby brother, although she thinks that smothering, hitting, poking, jumping near his head, yelling in his ear, and collapsing to the floor everytime she doesn't get her way at that moment seems to be a good way to get attention. YIKES!!! My patience is wearing thin. I would LOVE any advice on handling two kids and most importantly handling a 2 year old with a new sibling. This is innocent Emmi loving her brother at the moment

Reality Check

Holy Cow.......Brian and were just relaxing on the couch enjoying some Christmas music, our Christmas tree and lighted mantle with the stockings hanging.  We had a reality check when we saw 5 stockings hanging.  We are almost a family of 5.  Wow.......pinch me!  We are getting so excited to welcome our newest 5th member of the family. It's amazing what two people can accomplish in 10 years.
